Attention! The new ScHoolboy Q album has dropped and he's leveled up again. The Crenshaw High MC payed homage as well as tipping himself into the OG position. Songs like Lies and Floating bring in the crowd while highlight joints like Dangerous, Drunk (Feat. 6lack), Black Folk and Attention, show exactly who he is in this game. The Top Dawg lyricist is not willing to limit himself to a pocket on this record pushing his vocal intonations further in expression of his story and fragments of his makeup. He's not hesitant to speak truth in knowledge and wisdom on songs like CrasH speaking in reference to his daughter on the closing verse and owning his growth as a man.
The album's production compliment's his style with one of the best audio semblance. As we can expect it's bass heavy with 808 chopped up by signature high hats and jabbing snare. The features are very well-selected as well with the mentioned track with 6lack as well as 21 Savage, the legend Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla $ign, YG & Travis Scott (who wasn't really featured but appears to be a joint artist on the song CHopstix.
Overall the album contends with a few others to opening up as one of the hottest albums of 2019. We can see what else the summer has, but Q has definitely dropped a classic and contender regardless. I'll have this ScHoolboy Q joint on repeat, no doubt.
